KUALA LUMPUR – Two brothers who claimed to have been abducted and taken to Tanjung Malim, Perak, ended up in police lock-up when it was revealed that they had actually run away from their family home in Jalan Klang Lama, Kuala Lumpur.

Brickfields officer in charge, ACP Wan Abdul Bari Wan Abdul Khalid, said the boys, aged 12 and 14, had conspired with a man to give their family the news of their ‘kidnapping’.

‘The man called the mother about the kidnapping and she told their father about it before lodging a police report on March 15,’ he told reporters on Saturday.

He said the brothers were found by a lorry driver in Tanjung Malim the next day after he heard them shouting for help from inside the lorry and handed them over to the police.
